Mrs Bowen's Knitting Legacy
A couple of weeks ago we were left a fascinating gift at the shop from Sue, a regular customer whose mum passed away and left what can only be described as a knitting legacy.
We’d like to take you through the fascinating, interesting and sometimes hilarious parts of her collection. It really does put the more disorganised amongst us to shame.

Real Women's knits
We all love knitting otherwise we wouldn't be here, we'd be looking at Lawnmower blog, or Moustache blog (Moustache-blog is for the lovin´ soul who let moustaches enrich their life) or perhaps Ostrich & Crocodile Blog : leather, meat and by-products. But we've chosen to be here because we love knitting for people we love, we love the creative process and we love having clothes that we can tailor to fit our bodies.

Welcome to Spring!
Oh to be in England, now that April's there.....do you think Robert Browning had in mind the weather we've been experiencing over the last fortnight or so? I speak to you from my house with heating and fire on, thermals and coat. But! Last week, this was me in my knitted bikini! Yes, it's true, I wasn't going to be photographed as I am so gorgeous it makes other women jealous, but you know, I'd do anything for Knit-Wise!

Summer Knitting Inspiration!
Summer seems to have come super early this year, there's been panic buying of charcoal and sausages (much to the annoyance of bitter supermarket till staff), brave older ladies have been giving their 3/4 trousers an airing, younger women have been ill advisedly displaying their muffin tops. Hooray for British Summer time!

What's on the Web?
There's so much available on the web for knitters/crocheters/spinners/felters etc and I thought it would be great if Knit-Wisers could post their own favourite inspiring websites so that we could inspire each other.

Crochet Saturday
This Saturday, the 10th of March is crochet all the way day!! We have two mini workshops, 10-12 is for beginners, learning singles, doubles, trebles, triple salco, arab spring and.......relax. Ok, the last two might not be true, but you'll be doing the first three in no time. Once you have the basics, it really is quite easy to move on to creating some pretty lovely things, as we will see later on in this post.

Saturday Spinning Workshop
This Saturday (18th) we had our monthly spinning workshop at Knitwise and all went well even if there was some misbehaving from one of the wheels! Amanda and Anne arrived and spun like rumpelstiltskins and produced at least two skeins of yarn each.
