Adriafil Knitcol Trends Jacquard Slimming Yarn
There are more new yarns in this week that we'd like to share with you. Adriafil, the Italian yarn company produce Knit-Col Trends yarn which is a 100% merino yarn. We love these yarns at Knit-Wise and it isn't just because of the lovlely Italian Adriafil man, they really are beautiful.
We've picked a selection her of the new yarns we'll have in the shop. Although they're merino, they are washable at 40 degrees which is a huge deal when you're reaching down into that washing basket wondering how you're going to get everything done. (or is that just me?)
These yarns knit up into a Jacquard pattern, which looks like this ladies!

The colours are bright and cheerful and remember that new research shows that horizontal stripes are more slimming than vertical. Who knew!
These are a selection of the colours we've got in the shop
Adriafil are a company trying to be environmentally responsible in the production of their yarns, which is important to people who care about these things. They have the following on their website
Adriafil works in the respect of laws, environment, and man's health.
Each activity is carried out with absolute respect of fiscal and operative regulation. No moonlighting is used.
I don't know about you, but I'll sleep better tonight knowing they didn't abuse the moonlighting.
Anyway, in the news this week was Katherine Heigl, from Grey's Anatomy, in a knitting shop in New York, buying a big load of pink chunky yarn, she looks thrilled to be photographed while having a bit of personal time. But look at the wall of wool behind her - wouldn't you just love to get your mitts on that.

Katherine Heigl is to star in new film based on the the book The Knitting Circle by Ann Hood, the plot goes like this:
After the sudden loss of her only child, Mary Baxter joins a knitting circle in Providence, Rhode Island, as a way to fill the empty hours and lonely days. The women welcome her, each teaching Mary a new knitting technique and, as they do, revealing their own personal stories of loss, love, and hope. Eventually Mary is able to tell her own story of grief and in so doing reclaims her love for her husband, faces the hard truths about her relationship with her mother, and finds the spark of life again.
The book is available on Amazon if you'd like to read it, but the film sounds like a good excuse for a girls night out to me.

Our knit'n'natter's at Knit Wise aren't as dramatic as the one described above, but they are welcoming and friendly and we do talk about all sorts of matters, from shallow matters to very deep things. And new friends are welcome, so if you would like to come along, please feel free. We'd love to meet new friends who share our passion.
Right off to knit another square for my quilt!!
See you soon
