At Last - Knitter of the Month!!

This has been promised for a little while but finally, here it is  ddddrrruummmrrollllll  KNIT-WISE KNITTER OF THE MONTH

And this month is serial knitter and Knit-Wise squatter Francesca Quinn

Fran has been knitting for about six months, although was originally taught to knit by her grandma as a little girl. As she got older, knitting took a back seat when exams, University and degrees took centre stage, but when the time was right she returned to it, turning up at Knit-Wise for a beginners lesson.  It just goes to show that as mums, we can teach our children to knit, crochet etc, they might leave it for a while, but that seed might just germinate later in life and they could be knitting for Britain before you know it. Look at Fran's daughter Millie and her knitted Barbie skirt:

Right, so lets have a look at some of the items Fran has knitted over the last six months,

Crocheted fingerless gloves, knitted in Marisol Hacho hand dyed merino yarn, at a mini workshop, these took just two hours!

Knitted cable scarf, knitted in Sirdar Hayfield Aran yarn,

Little baby socks, a labour of love at a Sock Knitting workshop.  Knitted in scholler + stahl Fortissima Mexiko sock yarn, on four double pointed needles.  These are well worth the effort and would make a beautiful present for someone's little one to keep their toes warm in the winter.

As all keen knitters will know and Fran agrees, knitting is a wonderful stress reliever and with two small children, it's definitley needed at times!  And for that perfect me time escape, knit and natters are the perfect thing.

All these yarns are available at Knit-Wise and regular beginners knitting and crochet classes run through the year.  If you're a lapsed knitter and would like to relight that fire, pop into the shop and have a word with Myra or Mark and they can point you in the right direction.
